Na-gyen Maey | Fire Earrings – Gold

Na-gyen Maey are inspired by the blazing mass of wisdom-fire that is found on traditional thangka paintings and murals. A bunch or circles of thick, stylised wavy and curved patterns in blazing reds and oranges – a unique way of representing fire (maey) in art. Symbolism : Fire, a pure element that symbolises all that is sacred, also symbolises the destruction of the five negative energies and obscuring emotions of ignorance, desire, aversion, pride and jealousy in Buddhism. Fire is also identified with bodhicitta, the luminous consciousness of the Buddhist practitioner.
